This was an uncomfortable shoot. I'm not used to everybody staring at me. It's a strange feeling, especially behind the wheel of a prop car from The Fast and Furious. This is a Spider-Man wrapped BMW i8 with a massive carbon fiber wing that comes with a speakerphone that plays the superhero's theme song like an ice-cream truck. The last part isn't true, but in for a penny in for a pound, I think it would be a nice touch.
Aside from how ridiculous this car may be, it was a pleasure to photograph due to the wrap creating a matte-finish effect. This decreases reflections which brings out the body of the car in a really nice way, resulting in a clean, bold look. These images were photographed in my favorite Los Angeles location – underneath Grand Ave. around 2pm, right when the light splits the skyscrapers and cascades through the open-air median.
Attached below are my two favorite images. In post, I cleaned up the backgrounds, refined the light and added some unique smoke/dust effects.
What I love most about these is how they're so similarly stylized. I've had trouble matching color tones and mood lighting in photo sets before, but I think these do a really great job of fitting a similar vibe –
